Goto Retto
Marine playground and former haven of secret Christianity
Goto Retto meaning “Five Islands” actually consists of 140 islands, the 5 being the largest and main ones of the group. This area provides us with stunning clear waters, popular among the Japanese for Whale Watching in the month of August. There are a number of World Heritage listed Churches on the islands as well as beautiful traditional Ryokans (Japanese guest house). We have arranged for a walk-through peek at a couple of these prior to the day’s guests checking in. Time your visit to coincide with one of the seasonal town festivals, great food, great drink and lots of music and noise and local people having fun.
